BYOD
Computers have been in classrooms for many years and over the past ten years the use of computers and Information Communication Technologies (ICT) has grown in their application within and outside the classroom. Teachers as life-long learners will continue to focus on their curriculum and balance their pedagogical skills to best utilise ICT in an educationally purposeful way. ICT in a contemporary world is being reflected in classrooms.
Devices that are appropriate to the student educationally and developmentally and are able to transition seamlessly, learning from school to home and in between and take advantage of:
- evolving use of ICT for collaboration and creating of knowledge.
- extensive ability to share information locally and globally.
- online educational environments.
Enrolling a device for School
For personal BYOD devices to join our secure Wi-Fi network, they need to be enrolled with Microsoft Intune.
To enrol your device into Microsoft Intune, follow the video's below. Please note, these need to be completed at home.
Android and Chromebook devices are not supported
To complete enrolment into Microsoft Intune, Students must have their school email address (username@eq.edu.au) and corresponding password on hand.
If your student is new or has forgotten their password, their teachers can help them change it.
Office 365 Student Advantage
All state school students from Prep to Year 12 can now download Microsoft Office 365 free of charge on up to 5 devices.
Students who want the free software will need an active EQ login, school email and password - those who don't have these should contact the school ICT support.

Please note that the initial login page requires a school email address (username@eq.edu.au) and password with the following authentication page only requiring school username and password.
Will my child's older Windows device be compataible with the school network?
For devices running Windows 7, 8, or 8.1, an upgrade to Windows 10 is necessary.
If the device operates on Windows 10/11 'S Mode', it might require upgrading to standard Windows 10/11 initially. See the Microsoft Support Guide for more information.
Most laptops and tablets manufactured since 2015 typically come equipped
with a 5GHz Wi-Fi receiver, which the device will also need to have.
If your device does not have the supported Wi-Fi receiver, you can purchase a 5Ghz dongle from your local Electronic/Office stores.
