Principal’s Welcome

Beenleigh State High School delivers an  outstanding educational experience for all. Our school is positioned within a unique setting at the heart of the Beenleigh city centre and we enable the conditions for our students to connect and thrive through creative and supportive learning environments. All students are encouraged to pursue personal excellence across a range of fields within academics, citizenship, sport and the arts. Our inclusive educational community provides a caring and supportive environment, recognizing the importance of a connected and collaborative approach to developing a breadth of mind and desire to care for ourselves, each other and the environment.

Within it's 60 year history, Beenleigh State High School embodies the Latin roots of 'Semper Altiora' – to Aim Higher, and continues to live through the values 'We care, We are responsible, We achieve', across all settings, classrooms and school grounds.

Beenleigh High has a proud record of academic success and continues to build on the opportunities to be 'Future Ready.'  We are a school that aspires to excellence, enabling students to achieve their full potential and pursue their chosen pathway.

We deliver a broad, flexible curriculum structure that supports students to explore a diverse range of skills and nurture an understanding of their own personal qualities as confident, happy and healthy citizens. Unique programs exist in Music, Hospitality, Agriculture, STEAM and Sport that cater for developing individual excellence for our students. Furthermore, the school has a very supportive and active Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander unit, Mibunn Jinndi, and a strong culture group which has a tradition of leadership, excellence and inclusion. Both groups participate in performances throughout the school year and in the community.

Our School has an established Pathways Hub promoting traineeships and apprenticeships that support the transition of students to the workforce and serve the broader community. The school focuses on the teaching of employment skills, with students awarded micro-credentials to better prepare students positively for their future – whether that be to the workplace or further study. As a member of the Logan Education Round Table, Beenleigh High partners with Logan City Council to host Bridge to Business – an opportunity for Logan businesses to connect with Logan students on exiting high school.

Beenleigh State High has a unique school culture and community, with an active and supportive Parents and Community Association, strong broader community support, committed, highly experienced and talented staff, and outstanding student leaders. I am very proud to lead Beenleigh State High School and trust that your tour of our website will be interesting and informative. I would like to say, 'Beenleigh State High School is a school for which we should all be proud.'
