Hospitality is a dynamic and multifaceted subject that equips students with the knowledge and skills to thrive in the fast-paced Hospitality Industry. At Beenleigh State High School, we offer Food and Service Studies for years 7-10, and Certificate II Hospitality for years 11-12.
From food hygiene, knife skills, mise-en-place and preparing dishes to making a perfect espresso coffee and perfecting their customer service, Hospitality students are hands-on practising skills that are essential for success in the industry. They develop an understanding of concepts such as the importance of working effectively with others through to how to practice safe work practices. Hospitality education emphasizes the development of interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, preparing students for a wide range of career opportunities in Front and Back of House Hospitality pathways.
Beenleigh State High School's Hospitality Department hosts a range of exciting annual events that provide students with valuable experience and opportunities to showcase their skills. These events include the school's largest annual fundraiser, Paddock to Plate, which celebrates the connection between food and the community.
